Blend or Cuvée: 79% Sangiovese, 15% Mourvèdre, 5% Tannat & 1% Syrah

Nose: A captivating fusion of exotic and rustic aromas, the 2023 Sangiovese opens with piquant flower pollen, sarsaparilla, and distant cigar box, followed by layers of red cherry and ripe plum.

Palate: Rich and supple on entry, the wine's balanced, persistent acidity and tannin support savory notes of cured sausage and white pepper, while a touch of lightly underripe strawberry brings a refreshing lift to the finish.

Winemaking: Harvested on October 12th, 2023 at 24.2 brix, this Sangiovese was made with a combination of new-world and old-world styles and techniques in mind. After completely destemming, the fruit was transferred to two small, open-top fermenters and cold-soaked overnight before starting fermentation. A combination of pump-overs and punch-downs were used before pressing in a basket press for gentle tannin extraction. Then aged for 15 months in 100% Neutral French Oak and Hungarian Oak barrels.
