Tasting Notes: The 2022 Estate Syrah reveals a beguiling personality that is both spirited and a little mischievous. Vibrant blueberry and cherry notes leap from the glass, while earthier tones of mocha, sarsaparilla and juniper berry bring depth and dimension to the aromatic profile. Fine-grained, lightly chalky tannin on entry perfectly frames notes of pencil shavings and graphite, wild bramble, and Earl Grey tea. Substantial and well-integrated tannin persists on the palate through an impressive finish marked by elderberry, nutmeg, and rose hip.

Winemaking Notes: A blend of 6 different Syrah clones from the estate vineyard plus a single fermentation of a block planted in the style of Massale-Selection. All grapes were harvested within a one week period, completely destemmed, cluster and berry sorted, then fermented in closed-top, stainless steel tanks.

Aaron Romano of Wine Spectator says, "A big and gutsy style, yet without being overly tannic, this leads with chocolate cosmo, black strap molasses and subtle gamey details that give way to a ripe core of blackberry and Mission fig.
