Tasting Notes: A deeply colored wine, the 2021 Cohort transforms through several compelling acts, revealing layer upon layer of its mysteries as it opens in the glass. Earthy Maitake mushrooms and truffles make a brief appearance before gracefully yielding to a more expressive core of dark plum, red cherry, fresh fig, and a hint of blood orange zest. Crème de Violette and a dash of green mint carry effortlessly to the palate. The entry is firm but silky with wonderfully balanced acidity. Chewy, full-bodied tannins build through the mid-palate and persist through a finish full of blended raspberries and strawberries accented with crushed red flowers.

Winemaking Notes: All varieties were fermented separately in a combination of closed-top, stainless steel fermenters and open-top macrobin fermenters. The Petite Sirah and Syrah were completely destemmed, while the Grenache and Mourvèdre were fermented with a range of 30%-60% whole-cluster fruit.
