While traditionally a near 50/50 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, the 2014 Companion has a little something extra to offer. With a big chunk of Cabernet Sauvignon and a good backbone of Syrah, this blend also has small amounts of Tempranillo and Mourvèdre that round it out. As the leading player, Cabernet Sauvignon gives this blend noticeable herbaceous tones, while the Syrah envelopes and softens the bolder notes of Cabernet.
