2013 AZIMUTH
40% Grenache, 40% Mourvedre, 20% Syrah
Josh Raynolds of Vinous says, "Inky purple. Ripe blue fruit, vanilla and allspice aromas show very good clarity and pick up smoky nuance with air. Lush and open-knit, offering sweet boysenberry and candied plum flavors that are sharpened and given spine by juicy acidity. Lush and creamy yet energetic as well, finishing very long, with resonating smokiness and gentle tannins..."
Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Master of The Wine Palate says, "The 2013 Azimuth is a blend of 40% Grenache, 40% Mourvedre, and 20% Syrah. Pale to medium garnet colored with a touch of brick, it prances out of the glass with slowly evolving notes of raspberry coulis, cinnamon stick, potpourri, and black pepper, plus nuances of tobacco and sandalwood. Full-bodied, the palate has a wonderfully silky texture with a lively backbone and layers of red berry preserves and exotic spices, finishing on a lingering anise note." 97 Points
