Complex, intense and concentrated, showing ripe, juicy blackberry, currant, and plum with touches of expresso. Full-boddied, focused and persistent, supported by ripe tannins. Drink now through 2017. 92 points - Wine Spectator, February 2010 .......“The stunning 2006 Azimuth offers up scents of graphite, melted licorice, blueberries, blackberries, espresso roast, and pain grille. Its dense purple color, complex aromatics, and intense flavors suggest this full-bodied, well-structured beauty should drink nicely for 7 to 10 years. 92 points - Robert Parker, June 2008

Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
The Syrah, Grenache, Tannat and Alicante Bouschet are from our immediate neighbors, Torrin Vineyard. Our friends and neighbors, Scott and Viquel Hawley farm their 10-acre Torrin Vineyard with the same care and attention to detail we put into our own farming practices. The vines are all planted at 3’ x 7’ spacing in fractured limestone soils yielding 2.5 to 3-tons of fruit per acre. Perhaps more importantly, it is farmed from the viewpoint of a winemaker as Scott and Viquel produce their own fantastic wines. We selected Torrin Vineyard, fruit for our 2006 wines because we feel it is the closest representation of the Caliza Winery estate fruit we will begin to put into our wines beginning in 2008.
